Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap-up. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.

Life Updates

It was another quiet week on my end! I mostly just worked, ran errands, and read. Honestly, though, as an introvert who doesn’t get a ton of alone time, these are the best kinds of weeks sometimes! We’re having a birthday party for my dad Saturday night, which should be fun. I can’t believe school starts a week from Monday! This summer feels like it’s flown by, but it was seriously so much fun. I’m starting to get super excited to be back rehearsing with my choir once the semester starts! I haven’t seen most of them since our Austria/Germany tour in June. If you guys are in school or university, have you gone back yet? When do you start?

Book Haul

For Review:

Via the publishers, through Netgalley. (Already read and loved both of these!)

Other:

I got First & Then through a #booksfortrade, and I immediately ordered Spell on Wheels, vol. 1 after I heard tons of my friends raving about it recently (come on, queer witchy books are totally my aesthetic).

Books Read/Currently Reading

Read:

I had such a great reading week! I See You was a great thriller with an ending that threw me (review coming this Thursday). My Favorite Thing Is Monsters is one of the best books I have EVER read. Every element is seriously GENIUS. Gah, it’s so underrated, and literally every single person on the planet needs to read it. What We Lose was an awesome, brief meditation on grief and growing up. This Adventure Ends and Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge were both complete fun! Illegal Contact was such a fun romance read. And, finally, #NotYourPrincess was an awesome, eloquent collection from so many wonderful Native women voices.

Currently reading:

My library recently added a ton of new YA titles to their audiobook app, and I’m so excited to finally be reading Stalking Jack the Ripper! I’m really enjoying it so far, and the audiobook is great. Persepolis is a graphic novel memoir about Satrapi’s upbringing in Iran during the Revolution. Super interesting, and the art style is totally different from that of any other graphic novel I’ve read.

Currently Obsessing Over

Listening:

dodie, You EP // My ultimate fave, Dodie Clark, came out with new music this week, so of course I’ve been listening to it nonstop. I love her songwriting so much, and I will always support her music! Favorite tracks from this EP: “You,” “In the Middle”

How was your week? Did you get any awesome books? Have you read any of the ones I mentioned?
