Life Updates

Madalyn:

Hello! Long time, no talk. I am happy to report that I have returned from Europe, and, even better, I have returned a WINNER OF A PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL CHORAL COMPETITION! I If you keep up with me anywhere, you’ll know that I was in Austria and Germany with my university choir, touring and competing in the 15th International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf. We started our tour in Salzburg (one of my new favorite cities), then traveled to Marktoberdorf for the competition. I stayed with the most wonderful host family, met (and partied in a tent with) so many singers from around the world, and got to explore a ton of cities and towns throughout Bavaria. And, of course, WE WON THE DAMN COMPETITION. We’re all still in shock over winning. The announcement ceremony was such a surreal moment, one I will never forget. We ended our tour in Munich… where I got super sick and had to stay back in the hotel for our entire last day of activities. Boo. I’m still recovering from this hell sickness, but it didn’t diminish the experience of this tour at all. One of the highlights of my life. If you want to see pictures, go over to my Instagram and/or check out this thread on Twitter!

Anyways, now that I’m home, I’m pretty much just getting ready to head back abroad again. Haha. I’ve spent the last week recovering from being sick, and next week I’ll just be working. BUT after that, I’ll be in NYC for Pride next weekend, and then my dad and I are headed to Ireland and Northern Ireland the next week! I’m so excited to go back to Dublin and to visit Belfast for the first time.

Bee:

Honestly this week has been very non-eventful. I have been in a kind of life-slump lately where my days are filled with me trying to read but not being in the mood for any book or basically doing anything besides watching TV. Boo.

Books Read/Currently Reading

Madalyn:

Read // Weeping forever and ever over the ending of Lord of Shadows. This trilogy is going to kill me, y’all. It was a great reading week (and a half); I really enjoyed all of these.

Currently Reading // #SchwabIsQueen. I can’t wait to dive further into this conclusion!

Bee:

I read nothing at all this week. I know. I’m sad too.

Currently Obsessing Over

Madalyn:

Season Three of the Invisibilia podcast just started, and I am loving this season so far! It’s a podcast about the invisible forces that shape human behavior. The most recent episode in particular was fantastic.

How was your week? Did you get any exciting books? What are you currently reading/obsessing over?
