Beneath the Sugar Sky returns to Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children. At this magical boarding school, children who have experienced fantasy adventures are reintroduced to the "real" world.

Sumi died years before her prophesied daughter Rini could be born. Rini was born anyway, and now she’s trying to bring her mother back from a world without magic.

why i’m waiting

The Wayward Children series is one of my favorite series of all time! It’s so imaginative, and each book fills me with such a peculiar, melancholy sense of longing. But, like, in the best way. They’re truly something special. Beneath the Sugar Sky takes place at Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children, just like Every Heart a Doorway. I can’t wait to learn more about the school and to meet new characters (and get introduced to those new characters’ worlds)! Plus, each book in the series is super short, and we all need more short books in our lives.

What book are you waiting on this week? Have you read (and loved) the first two Wayward Children books as much as I have?

  1. I haven’t read Every Heart a Doorway yet, but I have wanted to. These books feel like they’re great to get you out of a slump since they’re not on the bigger side.
