I don’t re-read often, but when I was asked to review the new paperback I was all for it. Having re-read this book has made me want to start re-reading more. It allows you to catch some things you didn’t necessarily see before and it allows you to feel some things you didn’t feel before. It’s quite awesome. Now, into the actual review of the book. This book was absolutely outstanding. The story is told in first-person, from the main character, Melissa. The book starts off with you learning about an accident her father had. You are taken on a journey as soon as this story begins. Mel doesn’t want to leave her father after the accident…she definitely doesn’t want him going back to work. With her unease she heads out with him for a ridealong – a perk of being a cop’s daughter. Once the ridealong starts…it starts off rough. A dispatch comes on the radio and it’s not a voice Detective Latham has heard before. This voice, the voice of Jack, is eerie and is leading them to the scene of a murder. The […]
