ARC Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

content warnings: alcohol use, homophobia (always challenged), anxiety, ADHD, depression, talk of past drug use and drug addiction, depictions of racism in media, talk of past loss of a parent, talk of grief, brief mentions of pancreatic cancer in the past, brief talk of attempted sexual assault in the past (from a side character), outing, extensive discussions of politics It’s always indescribably difficult to sit down and attempt to write a review for a book that you know, immediately upon finishing, will almost certainly land at the top of your list of favorite books of the year; a book you realize, furthermore, has absolutely earned a spot on your “forever favorites” shelf on Goodreads. But here I am, reviewing this […]

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my stop on the Learning Curves blog tour. I’m excited to share this adorable novella with y’all! Read on for my thoughts and for a chance to win a copy! review When I saw that my friend Ceillie was publishing her first novella– a cis ace f/lesbian f novella with #ownvoices ace, ADHD, and anxiety rep– I immediately jumped at the chance to review it. Elena is a Puerto Rican law student, and Cora is working toward her MBA. The two meet in a business law class, and their romance develops […]

Blog Tour & GIVEAWAY! || Bad Boy: Elliot Wake

So, I’m kind of a jumbled mess right now. I can’t really gather any complete, cohesive thought. Hell, I can’t do that with a book I just feel meh about. Okay, Erica, get to the point here. Alright, lovely humans, let’s do this. Bad Boy was a fantastic read that left me feeling many emotions. I love when a book allows you to feel every emotion possible and you still end up enjoying it to pieces. The beginning of this book was a little slow and confusing to me, but that is kind of my own fault. I haven’t read Black Iris so I was little confused at some the nods to that book. But, all in all, the whole […]

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Wow, I’m just speechless right now.  I admit that I’ve loved pretty much all of CoHo’s books and she has now became an auto buy author for me so I pretty much figured that I would like it, but this book, it blew me away.  So fair warning, this review may be a rambling mess. Lily is a character that was very easy for me to connect with, she was smart, strong and by the end of this book, I really admired her and her courage.  She has been through so much and she could have easily let her circumstances destroy her and everything she had came to believe in, but she stood strong and she had faith in herself […]

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

My Thoughts Oh, where to begin with this book? First off, I commend Colleen Hoover for writing it, and for tackling heavy topics that aren’t often discussed in the New Adult genre. I hadn’t picked up a Colleen Hoover novel in a few years, after loving her books in high school and then becoming increasingly disappointed with each new release from her. However, I had heard so many amazing things from people I trust about It Ends with Us that I just had to give it a chance, and I’m so, so glad I did. This story follows our protagonist, Lily Bloom (yeah, you read that correctly), as she navigates life, love, and heartbreak. Lily made a fantastic narrator– she has […]

Waiting on Wednesday: Bad Boy

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s a feature where we show-off one of our most anticipated reads of the year. Where we tend to add more books to your never-ending TBR. erica’s waiting on I am so excited for this book. This will be my second book that I will read from this author. The first book I read was Cam Girl, which I wasn’t blown away by, but the writing style is magnificent and I think I’m going to enjoy this one so much more! Which book are you guys waiting on?

Blog Tour & GIVEAWAY! || SWEAR ON THIS LIFE: Renee Carlino

Swear on This Life was such a fantastic book, this review might be a bit ramble-y. I also plan on writing this review to the author, so it’ll be a little different. Just enjoy my incoherent babbling about a five-star read that really helped me through a tough time. Dear Renee,           First and foremost I want to thank you for writing such a beautiful and touching story. The way you are with words is just quite eloquent. You had me so captivated by every inch of this story. Not just because of how it impacted me due to the hurdles I have had in my life recently, but also because I felt so connected with the […]

The Pledge // Book Hangover Follows

The Pledge // Book Hangover Follows

I think I shall blame this book for putting me into a reading slump. This book was so good and it just kind of led me to have a book hangover. There were some parts that I didn’t absolutely love, but the book as a whole just left me breathless. I can’t find a contemporary novel I want to pick up lately and that is rare, since it’s my favorite genre. The story is told from alternating POV’s which is something I really love in books. I love getting both sides of the story and these authors did it so very well. I love being able to see what each other is thinking and what is going on in their […]

Deceiving Lies | Broke My Heart

Deceiving Lies | Broke My Heart

Seriously, Parts of This Story Broke Me I don’t even know what to say.  I can’t go into details because of spoilers but if you’ve read the first book with the way that it ended, then you probably have a good inkling of what I’m talking about.  But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, there’s SO much more behind what I thought was going on when I finished Forgiving Lies and how I thought things would play out. Rachel & Kash Are Perfect Rachel and Kash are seriously one of my favorite couples.  I fell in love with each of them as separate characters in Forgiving Lies, but they are PERFECT together.  They make each other stronger and even […]

Cam Girl | Leah Raeder : How you left me in a pickle…

Cam Girl | Leah Raeder : How you left me in a pickle…

“If two people could make each other smile and laugh and forget all the pain and darkness in the world for a moment, why should we feel ashamed of it? I read this quote and all I think of is this has nothing to do with this book. Absolutely nothing. I think it’s true blue (total unintentional pun), if someone loves you and makes you smile…never should you feel ashamed, but in this book that’s all I get. I get nothing from the relationship that Vada has with Ellis. It’s awful. They are toxic. Their smiles are covered up by so much hurt and it’s not something they help each other with. During the beginning I was rooting for them…I thought it […]
