Holiday Gift Guide: Hufflepuff Tales

Hi, everyone! As I’m sure you all have noticed, the holiday season is upon us. I always try to do some sort of bookish holiday gift guide on the blog, and for this year’s, I decided to recommend books to each Hogwarts House that I feel fit the characteristics of that House. I’ve wanted to do a series of book recommendations based on Hogwarts Houses for a while, and what better time than now, when you can add these to your holiday wishlist? Waiting on Wednesday: You Must Not Miss by Katrina Leno

Waiting on Wednesday was created by Breaking the Spine, and is now hosted by Wishful Endings (as Can’t Wait Wednesday). Plus, there will be magical/fantastical elements! And Katrina Leno’s beautiful writing! I can’t wait. Are you as excited […]

ARC Review: Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno

Summer of Salt is one of those books that quietly sneaks up on you, until before you know it, you’re fully immersed in a story of sisters, magic, and a small island overrun with birdwatchers. The fabulist elements were incorporated beautifully into the story, and I could almost feel the magic of By-the-Sea myself as I read. Our protagonist, Georgina, is part of a long line of magical women. The only problem? She hasn’t manifested any kind of power yet, and she only has a few short months until her 18th birthday for her gift to appear. Summer of Salt follows Georgina and her twin sister, Mary (power: ability to float), over the course of their last summer on their […]
