The Pokemon Go Book Tag

Posted August 4, 2016 by Erica || 4 Comments

I am so happy that Aentee @ Read at Midnight created this tag (and the graphics). Books & Pokemon, how could anyone pass this up? Ever since the app has been released my data and coffee intake has gone up, but my sleep and sanity has definitely gone down. But hey, that is what it takes to be the very best. Now I get to add this wonderful app with my one true love, books. So, let’s get to the fun part; combining the two.

My started Pokemon was the lovely Bulbasaur. If I actually knew that I was supposed to choose one of the three (I just saw one and got super excited) I probably would have got Squirtle, but oh well, I’m happy with my starter. All three are just too dang adorable.

The book that started my love for reading was The Clique by Lisi Harrison. I have every single one of those books and when I was younger I absolutely loved them. They made me love reading in every single way. I will always love those books even though at times I look back and laugh at how awful some of the characters are. But, for my age back then I think it was perfect.

Pikachu, definitely a classic that everyone will always love. He is just so adorable, loyal and just a great friend and I love him. I’m watching some of the series now and I just can’t get enough of this little guy.

A classic that I will always love, hmm… I don’t know if I have one because I haven’t read any classics. *hides in shame*

Those damn Zubats. They literally are everywhere, but they sure as hell aren’t nearly as bad as the Rattata, Pidgey, or Weedle for me…but pretty close.

The book that I would have to say that I have lost interest in (well, in all honesty, never had any interest in) is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. So many people love that saga, but I just want to avoid ever reading it.

This transforming little thing is just adorable and though it can have some aspects of other Pokemon he still is a favorite. Also, I’m kind of mad knowing that not a single person has found Ditto on the app. Gr.

A book that has some of the same aspects of other books but I still loved it was Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. A lot of people don’t like it for that reason alone, but I still really enjoyed this book.

Snorlax is probably one of my favorite Pokemon. Gosh, I sound like a broken record…I love them all, they’re just all too stinkin’ cute.

Hmm, a book I haven’t picked up because the size scares me…that would have to be Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. I have read the first two books, but just can’t seem to pick this one up because of how big it is. Though, I know the books only get bigger and bigger.

Gengar was actually the first of his kind that I found. I didn’t find the Gastly first, I found him so he’s pretty lucky for me. He just looks like a badass.

A book that kept me up is one that is actually doing that now. I am reading My Lady Jane and it is so damn interesting and it is helping me kick my slumps butt.

That Nidoking is just a hard one to catch/evolve. I have every other one, but him. He just is a sneaky little thing.

I am just going to stick with two couple’s I absolutely adore so much Peeta & Katniss from The Hunger Games and then Skylar & Josh from I’ll Meet You There!

Ponyta and Rapidash are just so gorgeous so I’m glad to one of them be a part of this tag.

A fire-hot, fast-paced read? Let’s go with…Forget Me Not by Sarah Daltry…gosh, a very fire-hot read. *fans self*

Eevee’s are too cute and what they evolve into is just as awesome. I have never caught a Vaporeon, Jolteon or Pyro in the wild, but I have been able to evolve them all and I have to say I love me the Pyro. The fierceness is exudes is just perfect!

So, I’m actually going to pick a series that I would love to start seeing spin-offs for…The Hunger Games. I would love to learn more about the previous games, especially the one that Haymitch won.

Magikarp, the poor useless Pokemon. I read the description of it on the app and gosh, they are harsh on this poor little thing. At least it evolves into something quite majestic!

A series that shocked me was Throne of Glass. It was my first fantasy that I absolutely fell in love with & I’m glad I was pressured into reading it. I haven’t finished the series, but the first two books were absolutely amazing!

I wish that I could get these because wouldn’t it just be awesome to have them in your Pokedek? Heck yes it would…maybe soon.

Overhyped series that I still want to read would have to be The Raven Boys. I hear so many good things about this series and so many people are just crazy fans about it. I want to start it sometime soon, but I keep putting it off. I think I’ll really enjoy this series.

I really want to get these guys…hopefully Pokemon Go will add them sometime so we can all catch them.

I want two different The Hunger Games editions.

Eggs are just so temperamental. You win some and you lose some and most of the times I lose. I keep getting Drowzees and it’s ticking me off. I have enough of those in my town as is. Though, I did get an Onix so that was exciting.

A debut I am so excited for is Caraval by Stephanie Garber and I am so thankful that I got an ARC of it. I am dying to read it but I don’t want to forget everything by January. But, if that happens it just means I’ll have an excuse for a re-read, right?

I like Lures but sometimes I just don’t have time for them. I don’t like sitting around while they are there because there are so many other places I could be catching different Pokemon. But, every once in awhile they’ll have a hidden gem.

I actually don’t have any auto-buy authors. Yes, I have my favorites, but that doesn’t mean I buy whatever they release. If it doesn’t spark my interest then I’m definitely not reading it.

Oh gosh, one day this happened and it was so damn ridiculous. Everyone was going insane. I know Nintendo might not have expected this many people to play at a time, but they definitely should have. Such a popular game they should have gotten their shit together.

I really need Gemina in my arms right about now. I have been dying to read this. As soon as I finished Illuminae I wanted Gemina. Illuminae was my favorite read of 2015 so I definitely have some high hopes for Gemina. I’m sure that I won’t be let down!

This took forever, but boy oh boy, it was a lot of fun. I tag absolutely everyone and anyone who wants to do this. Even if you aren’t a Pokemon fan you can still do this tag. It includes books so you’re golden! I hope you enjoyed reading through this tag. Do you agree with any of the books I chose?

I choose you.

  1. I love that you’re loving MY LADY JANE – one of my favorites this year for sure!

THE CLIQUE was totally a favorite series of mine when I was younger haha. I definitely want to finish it (I think I have like 5 books left?) at some point even though I know I’ll hate the characters haha.

Yeah, but I put it down for now…I am for some reason not sticking with any book I pick up, it’s ridiculous.

& yay, I have found a fellow lover. I have not found anyone so far that has read these books. Well, I know people do, but just anyone I talk to 😛 I’ll probably hate the characters to, but I want to read that series again, it’ll bring back some awesome memories.
