Review: A Midsummer’s Nightmare by Kody Keplinger

Posted July 20, 2012 by Christy / 1 Comment

Format – Hardcover Pages – 291 Publisher – Poppy Buy this book – Amazon From Goodreads: Whitley Johnson’s dream summer with her divorcé dad has turned into a nightmare. She’s just met his new fiancée and her kids. The fiancée’s son? Whitley’s one-night stand from graduation night.   Just freakin’ great. Worse, she totally doesn’t fit in with her dad’s perfect new country-club family. So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. So hard she doesn’t even notice the good things right under her nose: a sweet little future stepsister who is just about the only person she’s ever liked, a best friend (even though Whitley swears she doesn’t “do” friends), and a smoking-hot guy who isn’t her stepbrother…at least, not yet. Review: Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols

Review: Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols

My Thoughts: Having read a couple of Jennifer Echols other books I was very excited to read Such a Rush and I have to say that Ms. Echols did not disappoint.  This book sucks you in from the very first page and does not let you go. Eighteen year old Leah Jones grew up moving from trailer park to trailer park with her mother (whenever she was around) and whatever boyfriend her mother had at the moment.  Since rent was cheaper at trailer parks surrounding airports, Leah has always lived near one.  Leah’s love for airplanes came when she was fourteen years old, so she got a job at Hall Aviation for Mr. Hall in order to be around […]

Waiting on Wednesday (2)

Posted July 18, 2012 by Christy / 3 Comments

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticpating. My WoW pick this week is Ten by Gretchen McNeil Publication Date – September 18, 2012   And their doom comes swiftly. It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury. But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a […]

Early Review: Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

Posted July 17, 2012 by Christy / 0 Comments

{Early Review} Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry Format – e-ARC from Netgalley Publication Date – July 31, 2012 Publisher – Harlequin Teen Pre-Order this book: Amazon From Goodreads: “I won’t tell anyone, Echo.  I promise.” Noah tucked a curl behind my ear.  It had been so long since someone touched me like he did.  Why did it have to be Noah Hutchins?  His dark brown eyes shifted to my covered arms.  “You didn’t do that-did you?  It was done to you?”  No one ever asked that question.  They stared.  They whispered.  They laughed.  But they never asked. So wrong for each other…and yet so right. No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from the popular girl […]

Review: Easy by Tammara Webber

Review: Easy by Tammara Webber From Amazon: A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion.  A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal.  Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all? When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup.  After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality:  she’s single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, stalked by her ex’s frat brother, and failing a class for the first time […]
