Monthly Ink - October (2)

We hope you guys had an amazing Halloween and are recovering well this morning with loads of coffee. But, more importantly we hope that you had a wonderful October month! It was a good month, but nothing great. Hopefully, November will bring us something super awesome.

New on the blog…

OTSP Secret Sister…

Erica: My amazing OTSP Secret Sister got me so much that I am so thankful for. What I got from my sister this month is:

» 5 to 1 by Holly Badger

» Sven Pop! Funko

» $15 Starbucks gift-card

» Q&A for Couples, which was so adorable and she totally read my mind

» Dark chocolate, which will help me throughout NaNoWriMo

» Mint journal with my name inscribed (probably my fave thing)!

Thank you again, sister, you’re fabulous & I love you tons.

My sister sent me an Alice in Wonderland themed package that was absolutely AMAZING! I seriously loved everything in it.  Dear Sister, YOU ROCK!!

You can check out the pictures in our Stacking the Shelves post.

Venturing Around the Blogosphere…

check out these lovely posts that we adored this month:

» Mishma @ Chasing Faerytales talks about the blogosphere and how we may just be going through The Great Blogging Depression.

» Faye @ The Social Potato talks about talking about twists and whether or not that takes away from the twist (which, I totally think it does…most of the time).

» Cait @ Paper Fury talks about being a kind book blogger (which is awesome)!

» Nick & Nereyda join forces to rule the blogging world as they form (which name I adore) Nick and Nereyda’s Infinite Booklist

» Aime @ Deadly Darlings shows us how to rock out on Instagram! (loved this)

» Becca & Lisa @ Lost in Lit talk about ARC envy: the good, the bad & the ugly!

Life & What’s Happening…

Erica: So, this month was awful. It wasn’t a very good reading month and I was in the worst slump in the world. I just can’t get into reading even with so many other books staring me in the face. They’re so beautiful, but I just put them back on the shelf and it’s so upsetting.

After long though, just kidding, it was totally spur of the moment…I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. If any of you guys are participating, let me know and you should add me as a writing buddy

Christy: This month has felt incredibly busy.  I was finally getting used to working 7 AM to 7 PM and then last week they upped and switched it around so now I’m working 7 PM to.7 AM and I’m not adjusting the best.  Hopefully it’ll get easier soon!

On top of crazy work hours, I’ve been in a reading slump the entirety of October.  I’ve seriously only read 3 books.  JUST 3! What is this madness?! I’m hoping November will be better.

  1. Boo to a slumpy October. Hope November is a fantastic reading month for you both!! I’m also looking forward to November 9. You both look like you have amazing secret sisters. Love both your IG accounts and your backgrounds for the pictures. Have a great week ladies!

  2. Boo to an October slump! Hopefully November will be an awesome reading month. I am so looking forward to November 9! You guys sound like you have great Secret Sisters. Love your IG pictures especially your backgrounds. Have a great week ladies!

  3. AHHH I LOVE BOTH YOUR INSTAGRAMS. Do I even follow you? Omg, I need check this immediately. *nods* (I adore that background Erica!!) And omg, good luck for NaNo, too! 😀 I am NaNoing. *nods* It’s going…okay? Like I’m not as into it as I was into last year’s book, which is a bit disappointing. I think I got hyped up for this book too early in October and then sort of lost some of the ermagerdness due to having to wait so long to start. xD Ahh, but ya learn, ya learn. And I’m reading Illuminae as soon as I finish NaNo! It’s like my reward.

Ahh, Christy!! I hope you like Ruby Hotel! I am monstrously interested in that one too. *nods* Also that Alice edition is soooo gorgeous. *pets computer screen*

Thanks for sharing my post too!! 😀 YOU TWO ARE SUCH LOVELY WONDERFUL BLOGGING BEANS.

  4. OMG, I totally hated working nights. The hours killed me. I did get more reading/homework done, so there’s that. I cannot wait to read your review of Illuminae. It was my favorite read, like, ever! So, I really hope you enjoy it. I only got 9 books read and reviewed tin October, but I DNF’d a bunch. I hope next month is MUCH better for you both.
Oh and you two are killing it on the Bookstagram front. I am slightly jealous.

  5. Did you guys take those pictures? They are very damn pretty!
Loved Everything Everything and The Revolution of Ivy! Unfortunately, I hated November 9 which sucks because I freaking adore Colleen Hoover.
Looking forward to This Raging Light!

  6. Oh, awesome stuff from your secret sister! I hope I can get involved soon. There are so many cute things at the bookstore that I would love to be buying for someone! I’m reading Hotel Ruby right now, and would like to be done with work today so I can sit and finish it now! Have a great week! You can check out my Sunday post in the link below!
