Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post.  The three of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.

Life Happenings

For the first time in forever, it feels like my mental health is actually improving! Though I’m still reeling from the election, I’ve turned my helplessness into action– setting up monthly donations to important organizations like the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, making calls, writing emails, etc. I’ve had a relaxing week of reading, shopping, EATING, and spending time with loved ones. Now, though, I’m gearing up for finals and, of course, the time of year when every musician lives in a constant state of exhaustion: the holidays. *insert upside down smiley here*

I, um… went a little crazy at the BookOutlet Black Friday sale. But #noregrets because all of these were only, like, $23 total, even after shipping.

Borrowed:

Shoutout to my one of my IRL best friends, Maggie, for forcing this book upon me (with my full consent). I can’t wait to read it!

For Review:

I’ve already read and adored Inexplicable Logic. Review to come closer to release date, but for now: add it to your TBR, y’all. I’m super excited to dive into RoseBlood!

I’m still working my way through the audiobook of Emma, and still loving this re-read. I just started RoseBlood, and I’m so excited for this story!

Currently Obsessing Over

Burning:

These candles. They’re inspired by the different neighborhoods of Atlanta! I think my favorites are the Downtown (not that I’m biased or anything… 😉 ) and East Atlanta Village ones. I picked up a few to give as Christmas gifts, and a few for myself!

Baking:

Pies! Specifically, this brown butter pumpkin pie recipe. I bought my roommate/best friend this Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Book for her birthday this year, and all the recipes we’ve tried have been delightful!

I mean, now that Thanksgiving is done, it’s officially Christmas, right? These two Christmas albums (from two of my favorite solo artists) just came out this year, and I adore them both and will be adding them to the Christmas music rotation at my house this season.

  1. Oh good luck on finals!!! I went nuts at the Book Outlet sale too. But I did 11 books for under 40ish shipping so I mean not bad. Can’t wait to see what you think of The Inexplicable Logic of My Life. Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. I love that you’re being so proactive! THANK YOU! The entire state of things has me freaked out but actually doing something does help at least a little. You got some incredible books this week too! I’m so interested in Roses and Rot! I’m also really curious to see your thoughts on RoseBlood. Have a great week 😀

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • Aw, thank you! It’s been really helpful for me to at least have some semblance of productivity. I’m super excited about Roses and Rot! I definitely have some mixed feelings about RoseBlood. I hope you have a wonderful week, as well! 🙂
