Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post. The three of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.
This week was a *little* better than last week, thankfully. I’m still fighting off this bout of depression, but I was able to get more things accomplished this week. Next week is my last full week of classes before finals, and I’m super stressed trying to finish all the projects and papers I have due. On a brighter note, choir rehearsal was cancelled yesterday, so I was able to go to brunch with a friend, which was lovely. Tomorrow is Easter, and even though I’m not religious, I’m headed to my grandparents’ farm in rural Georgia to have lunch. I’m excited to see my family (and also to drink buckets of my grandma’s sweet tea)!
I went to the release party for Becky Albertalli’s newest book, The Upside of Unrequited! I’m so happy to have my hands on a finished copy. <3 The signing also featured Katie Cotugno, whose new book, Fireworks, was also released that day. The event was a blast, but I totally forgot to get pictures!
Thanks to all the lovely people who traded with me! 🙂
None this week! Still sticking to my self-inflicted review copy ban.
Books Read/Currently Reading
I haven’t been super motivated to read lately, but I’m really enjoying this one! Super cute, very Austen-esque. I always love a good historical fiction novel.
Currently Obsessing Over
Up First Podcast by NPR // The first of my two most recent podcast obsessions! I mentioned The New York Times’s podcast The Daily a few weeks ago in my rewind, but I much prefer NPR’s recently-launched podcast Up First. It’s a 10-15 minute daily podcast that gives you all the important news you need to know for that day. It’s a great way to stay informed. I love listening to this on my walk to class in the mornings.
Natch Beaut Podcast by Jackie Johnson // This one is SO much fun! I’m a beauty junkie (fun fact: I worked in a cosmetics studio for 2.5 years), and this podcast feeds my addiction. The host, Jackie Johnson (and usually a guest) discusses the newest beauty trends and products. She’s a comedian by trade, so it’s pretty hilarious.
RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 9) // My friends and I live for Drag Race, and Season 9 has been so entertaining thus far. This season’s queens are such an eclectic bunch!
Very British Problems // My stepbrother and his wife told me about this show. It’s available on Netflix, and as someone who has spent a lot of time in the UK, I find it really funny and scarily accurate.
Did you get any exciting new books this week? What are you currently obsessing over?
