Madalyn’s Novel Rewind (12)

Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post.  The three of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.

Life Updates

I don’t really have much to say here this week, because I’ve spent most of the week too depressed to do much of anything. Overall, it’s been a stressful, disappointing week that I mostly just want to put behind me. I am starting to feel a little more like myself, so here’s hoping next week is better. <3

Book Haul

I bought both of these on ebook deals; I’ve heard fantastic things about both. I haven’t gotten to F*ths yet, but I ended up really enjoying The Abyss Surrounds Us. 🙂

For Review:

None this week! Still sticking to my ban on requesting ARCs until I finish all the e-ARCs sitting on my Netgalley shelf.

Books Read/Currently Reading

Both of these were really fun!! Here’s my review for Geekerella, if you want to know more of my thoughts. I definitely want to see more people reading/talking about Abyss, because it was so unique. I’m not usually a sci-fi fan, but I adored it!

Currently Reading:

Finishing up Get It Together, Delilah! and hoping to read Duels & Deception next.

Currently Obsessing Over

The Great British Baking Show // Yes, I’ve already seen all the seasons on Netflix. Yes, rewatching them is my favorite form of self-care when I’m depressed. Seriously, if you haven’t yet seen this gem of a show, it’s absolutely delightful! I feel like this is a show literally anyone could enjoy.

Make Out With Him Podcast (with Lex Croucher & Rosianna Halse Rojas) // My two favorite YouTubers (no, seriously, I watch a lot of YouTube, but these two ladies are my #1 favorite content creators on that site) made a podcast together!!! AKA my dreams have been realized.

Did you get any exciting new books this week? What are you currently obsessing over?

  1. I totally need to get around to picking up the Abyss Surrounds Us! I’ve heard so many good things about it. But I did read Geekerella, and it was so awesome! If you liked it, you will totally adore Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram! It’s very similar, but to be honest, I’d say this one is better. I agree with your thoughts about Geekerella lacking some substance, and I thik that’s exactly what Cinder & Ella makes up for. Geekerella is kinda all about getting caught up in the cuteness and the geekiness, but with the other one there is so much more going on, and it breaks your heart.

Okay, done with the book pushing now! XD

I hope you feel better soon!

    • The Abyss Surrounds us was unique and wonderful! It totally lived up to the hype. Ooh, you’ve definitely got me interested in Cinder & Ella! I’m gonna definitely look into that one. And thank you <3
