erica's novel rewind

Novel Rewind is the way Christy and I wrap up our week. Though, since there is two of us we’ll be alternating weeks and each of our separate posts will be showcasing the past two weeks.

We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.

Life & What’s Happening

I have made my way back up to Ohio to visit for awhile. Our landlord down in Georgia found out we had dogs (after a year of living there) and said we couldn’t…hmph. So it was a good excuse for us to come up and visit our dad. We brought the dogs and it is now a huge family reunion. I come up here and realize I have missed nothing. It is still as boring as before and it is just so blah.

Also, I have recently went through a break-up. We were together for 4 years so it’s really a tough situation. I mean it really isn’t that recent, but it is recent in the sense of…I’m finally talking about it now. It was so hard in the beginning but with some amazing people behind me I have been so happy lately. Everything happens for a reason even though at times you don’t understand why. I do want to write a more personal post about this sometime soon, but so much shit has been going on I just haven’t gotten around to it, but I will so keep a look out. Okay, enough about me, let’s get to the best part…the books!

  1. I’m so happy you’re at a better place. It’s never easy and days will come when it’s just plain horrible, but you’re a strong woman and I know you’ll be more than okay 🙂
I bought Fairest too! I haven’t read it yet since I still haven’t finished Cress. I also have It Ends with Us and Swear on this Life! I can Fangirl with you whenever I read them 😀 A Thousand Salt Kisses sounds interesting so I’m checking that out.
I was going to include the series I’ve been watching and totally forgot to do it! I’ve been binge watching series like crazy now on vacations.
I hope you have a good week!! ❤️

  2. I’m sorry to hear about the breakup, but I’m glad that you have so much support behind you. I hope you’re going to start feeling much happier and that life will ease up for you a bit.
I hope you like Rebel of the Sands. I thought it was a fun book and I’m looking forward to reading more. I’m curious about Caraval and Stalking Jack the Ripper, but I’m going to wait for more books to be out. And both are so hyped right now and this kind of hype burned me with a lot of YA books this year.
I hope you enjoy all your new books. Happy reading and take care!

  3. Oooh! Nice haul, I am looking forward to your pictures!
I am so sorry to hear about your breakup, that is hard. Everyone goes through that, so know you are not alone. I hope you continue to find joy.
    Have a great week!

  4. Sorry about the break up Erica! 🙁 Glad you’re doing better though!

That’s an impressive haul! I’m so jealous to see people getting copies of Nevernight, seriously. I want it sooooo bad and I wish I could pre-order but I can’t. Sigh. 🙁

  5. Sorry about the break up. Break Ups are never easy and even when you know its for the best, the pain and heartache doesn’t lessen. I’m glad you are doing better!
What part of Ohio did you travel to? I’m in Cincinnati! Sorry about your dogs. We always had the most difficult time finding places to rent that allowed big dogs so I know the struggle!
    Enjoy all those new books!

  6. I’m so sorry to hear about the breakup. I’m in no position to say this but eventually, things will get better. And as you said, everything happens for a reason. I wish you a very blessed and happy life ahead of you! As for the books, you’ve got a lot of books that’s on my wish list! Happy reading, I can’t wait to hear about your thoughts on the books!

Thanks love, that means a lot. I mean I know this was 3 months ago, but reading over this comment again just makes me super happy, so thank you!

Thank you, Grace. This sounds silly, but I’m glad I didn’t comment back on these when it first happened because coming back to read these comments really puts a huge smile on my face <3

Thanks, Nick <333 I really do have a lot of support and I'm glad I was able to come back and read these comments because it shows how much support I truly do I have. I love you guys so much & knowing you guys have my back really makes me super happy.

Thank you, it has been a few months since then and it still sucks at times, but knowing I have people to support me really helps 🙂

You said that perfectly, even when I knew it was for the best it still didn’t hurt any less. You understand it more, but the pain is still there. I live near Youngstown…I’m in a tiny town about 45 minutes south of Youngstown; I’m about 45 minutes to the PA border. I did have to travel through Cincinnati though.

Thank you so much, it has been a tough three months, but I’ll get there. It sounds silly, three months and I’m still not okay? But I’m 90% better. There are always lingering feelings of being hurt and what not. I hope you had a great summer 🙂

Yes, things will get better. I miss him a lot and there are things that I wish were different, but life definitely goes on and that is something I have to remind myself from time to time. Thank you so much for your kind words <3
