Christy's novel rewind (1)

Novel Rewind is the way Erica and I wrap up our week. Though, since there is two of us we’ll be alternating weeks and each of our separate posts will be showcasing the past two weeks.

We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post.

Life & What’s Happened

Life has still been hectic these last two weeks.  Work has been insane and hard and I’m to that point of “how much longer can I do this?”  Honestly, I’ve been there for a while.  I’ve talked to Erica about it in the past and I’ve been talking to my family about it.  This job is literally draining me.  I feel like it is slowly killing my soul.

I did have an interview for another job that will be 8 hour days instead of 12 and not so demanding.  The only thing that may screw it up for me is the health insurance so I’m trying to work out alternatives so that I can get out of the place I’m working at now.  I hope that I can figure something out cause I’m literally standing on the edge.

Christy

Christy is a superhero who spends her days saving the lives of those who live in her small town and her nights with a book in her hands. Okay, a superhero may be a bit of a stretch, she's just a nurse who loves to read.

  1. I’m so sorry about the job, Christy. I really hope that other one works out for you and it’s something that you’ll find more enjoyable than the 12 hours job.
You got some fantastic books though, so at least there’s that to be excited about. 🙂 I loved Summer of Chasing Mermaids, Menagerie, I’ll Give You the Sun, Everything Everything and Anatomical, so I hope you’ll love them too.
    Have a lovely week, Christy!

  2. Your bookstagram photo is DIVINE. Just sayin’.

But omg, I’m so sorry for you Christy. *sends you hugs and cake* D: I really hope the possible new job works out, because having a job just ruin everything like that just sounds horrible and draining and blehhhh. Fingers crossed things change soon!!

  3. THE ANATOMICAL SHAPE OF THE HEART IS SO FANTASTIC! AHHHH! It was my favourite book of last year so I hope you love it just as much as I did. Jack = <3 <3 <3!

But I'm really sorry to hear that you're having such a harsh time at your job. Hopefully something will pop up soon that'll be everything you need it to be. And great haul by the way. I got Glass Sword too and I am hoping that it'll be better than Red Queen. I've been hearing some iffy things…

  4. Aww I am so sorry about your job. That is the worst. I really hope you can find another job that works better for you. I can’t imagine the stress you are feeling. On the bright side – look at those books!!! So many great ones. I really want to read Menagerie at some point. Hope you enjoy them all!!

  5. There is nothing worse than a job that seems to suck out your soul bit by bit. I had that in a job for three years and the day I finally got out of there, I felt as if a weight had been lifted from my shoulders and I had this dumb grin on my face! That will happen for you, hopefully very soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. x

  6. I adore your bookstagram picture. It never ceases to amaze me how creative people are.

Great haul, hope the week treats you both well! Happy Reading. 🙂

Good luck on your job/health insurance complication too… Stressful, but will work out for the best.

  7. I’m sorry to hear about your work, I hope it gets better Christy. :/

As for your books, I really liked the Anatomical Shape of the Heart, The Summer of Chasing Mermaids, and I’ll Give You the Sun. I’ve been meaning to check out Everything, Everything. I hope you enjoy them all.

  9. oh I love that Instagram pic! I sooo want to get to Glass Sword in my super long TBR list 🙂 Sorry to hear your works is do demanding and you feel drained. Hope it gets better soon

  10. Sorry work has been so draining. I’ve definitely been there. I really want to read TASoaH. Unfortunately, I really disliked The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. And while I did enjoy Breathe, the Sea Breeze series kind of felt a bit repetitive for me after a while. Hope you enjoy your new books though.

  11. 12 hour days?!? No wonder you want a break – that’s insane! I hope everything works out for you though. ♥

And I cannot wait to see what you think of all of these books. I absolutely adored I’ll Give You the Sun so I hope you end up liking it as much as I did. And I am so excited for Glass Sword – hopefully it lives up to the awesomeness of Red Queen! Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! xx

  12. Nice stack of books, I heard Menagerie was good. And The 100- love that show! After a shaky start it seems that S3 is really taking off.

It can be tough when work is hard like that- good luck with the job search and hope it all works out soon!
