Also, it’s set in Edinburgh and features a protagonist who can see ghosts. TAKE MY MONEY. What book are you waiting on this week? Are you also a diehard Schwab fan?
Month: January 2018
I saw a post about this topic over on Lauren’s blog, and it inspired me to make my own post about books I want to reread this year! I’m normally a huge fan of rereads, but in 2017, I failed miserably at them– I only reread ONE book (out of the 170+ things I read) all of last year. Luckily, I have a few rereads I’m really excited about on deck for 2018! Let’s get into the books. potential 2018 rereads (Covers link to Goodreads) Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli // I of course want to reread this one before I go see the Love, Simon film! This is one of my absolute favorite books, yet […]
Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap-up post. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Life Updates Happy weekend, friends! I didn’t really get a weekend last weekend because I was going nonstop Friday-Monday and then had normal school and work stuff to deal with the rest of the week, so I’m hoping to lay low at home and get in some rest (and reading time!) this weekend. Two of my best friends had birthdays last weekend, and we had parties for them both Friday and Saturday night! They were both SO much fun. The one on Saturday was a surprise party, and my friend was so shocked and excited. Plus, after […]
Monthly Recommendations is a Goodreads group created and hosted by Kayla Rayne @ Kayla Rayne and Trina @ Between Chapters. I used to do these videos when I was on BookTube, and I really miss them, so I’ve decided to try to do them on the blog every month. January’s topic is the best first books in series. It was hard to narrow down, but I ended up choosing eight series openers that left me breathless and needing more. Without further ado, onto the books! madalyn’s list (Covers link to Goodreads) Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire // This book utterly enchanted me. It struck the perfect balance of whimsy and darkness, and it left me desperate to learn more about all of the […]

I am so ready for this book. It sounds like my ultimate summer read. What book are you waiting on this week? Are you also excited for this one?
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is our top ten books that we loved, but can’t remember much about. I sometimes don’t have the best bookish memory (which is why I always reread predecessors or at least recaps of predecessors when a new book in a series I love comes out), so I enjoyed putting together this list! It definitely gave me ideas of the books I need to reread soon. Anyway, let’s get into my picks! I rated all of these books five stars at the time I read them. madalyn’s top ten (Covers link to Goodreads) Everything […]
Hi, lovely readers! Today, I’m here with ANOTHER Q&A hosted by The Blended Blog— this time with questions pertaining to the new year! Can we all agree that I’m just gonna make this a monthly Thing(TM) now, since I’ve done this for the past four months in a row? I really enjoy doing these. As per usual, I first saw this post over on Grace’s blog. questions Resolutions or no resolutions? I’m fine with resolutions! I prefer to make goals as opposed to resolutions, though. They just feel easier to achieve that way. Love snow or no snow? You know, normally, I would say snow all the way, because it rarely snows here in Atlanta and is always a welcome surprise when […]
Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap-up post. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Life Updates What an interesting week! I only had two days of class this week because of the MLK holiday on Monday and the not one, but two snow days we got on Wednesday and Thursday. It was nice at first, but Thursday I started feeling a little stir-crazy from being trapped inside (not only was it icy outside, but this whole city basically shuts down and everything closes when it snows). Two of my best friends had birthdays this weekend– one on Friday and one on Saturday. We had parties both nights for them, which was […]
Hello everyone! Today, I’m here with a bit of a different post. When reviewing my reading in 2017, the thing that stands out to me most is how much more I read last year than in any other previous (recorded) year. I normally average between 60 and 80 books per year, but last year I read 170. That’s 100 MORE books than I typically read in a year. I did notice changes in the way I read that I think led to this dramatic increase, so today, I thought I’d share some of the tips and tricks I, a full-time student with two part-time jobs, have successfully employed to help me read more. Now, two disclaimers before we get into […]

And, I mean, I could always use more of Mackenzi Lee’s writing. This started out as a series on Mackenzi Lee’s Twitter, and every week I look forward to reading about another kickass lady through #BygoneBadassBroads. Plus, it seems like this collection will be intersectional… here’s hoping! What book are you waiting on this week? Are you also excited for Bygone Badass Broads?
