Disruption by Jessica Shirvington

Disruption by Jessica Shirvington

My Thoughts Holy crap, you guys! I seriously don’t even know where to begin! This book absolutely blew me away.  This author seems to have that effect on me.  Well, technically this is only the second book of hers that I’ve read, the first being One Past Midnight, but both of them blew me away! I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while, I saw it on Goodreads and it sounded amazing and I saw that some of my friends had read and loved it.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t get my hands on it because it wasn’t published in the US yet.  I was so ecstatic when I saw it available for review request because I had been wanting […]

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Wow, I’m just speechless right now.  I admit that I’ve loved pretty much all of CoHo’s books and she has now became an auto buy author for me so I pretty much figured that I would like it, but this book, it blew me away.  So fair warning, this review may be a rambling mess. Lily is a character that was very easy for me to connect with, she was smart, strong and by the end of this book, I really admired her and her courage.  She has been through so much and she could have easily let her circumstances destroy her and everything she had came to believe in, but she stood strong and she had faith in herself […]

Madalyn’s Novel Rewind (2)

Posted October 13, 2016 by Madalyn / 6 Comments

Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post.  Each of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Life Happenings You might notice that this post is going up a few days late (we usually post our weekly rewinds on Saturday)… I got so wrapped up in studying for midterms this week that I completely forgot about this post. However, the good news is, I MADE IT THROUGH THE MID-POINT OF THE SEMESTER! This semester has been a struggle, and the whole thing has really been an exercise in celebrating small victories. That being said, my small victory of the past couple weeks: as some of you might know, I’m […]

Waiting on Wednesday: The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

Waiting on Wednesday: The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s a feature where we show off one of our most anticipated reads of the year. Where we tend to add more books to your never-ending TBR. madalyn’s waiting on why i’m waiting I’ve heard the most amazing things about this book! I’ve been prioritizing reading #ownvoices novels in 2016, and this sounds like an excellent one. I’m interested to read from the perspective of a character whose family is in danger of being deported. This is a very real issue that many teens in this country face, and I think it’s a discussion that needs to be had in YA lit. I also LOVE books that take place over a […]

Everyone We’ve Been by Sarah Everett: Review & Giveaway

Everyone We’ve Been Blog Tour My Thoughts When I read the summary for this book, I knew that it was a book that I just had to read.  That summary just hooked me and it sounded like something that I would absolutely love, and of course I was right! Everyone We’ve Been is a story about Addie, who after an accident is seeing a boy that no one else can see.  Upon trying to figure out what’s going on, she discovers some things that she wasn’t expecting and she’ll have to come to terms with not only the boy no one else can see, but also the things that she learns on the way.  It’s not an easy road, and […]

Horror October: Thrills & Chills | Movies We Love

Posted October 7, 2016 by Erica / 8 Comments

Today we will be talking about the movies that gave us all the thrills and chills. Whether the movie is purely a scary movie or just a complete thriller, these are some movies you should definitely watch in the month of October. erica’s choices Now I have to admit that scary movies are my absolute favorite. I love watching them and I am a complete baby when it comes to sitting down and actually watching it…but once the movie is over I usually either freak myself out or think the movie is completely stupid. If I freak myself out it is to the point to where I can barely sleep. Once when I went to the movies with Thomas and we […]

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

my thoughts Okay, okay, you guys: I finally did it. I succumbed to the pressure. As I’m sure many of you know, Six of Crows has received rave reviews from virtually everyone since it came out last year. With the second book in the duology, Crooked Kingdom, finally out as of last week, I decided it was time to see what the hype was about. I tend to avoid overhyped books as long as possible; however, I adored the Grisha Trilogy, and Six of Crows is set in the same world, so I remained cautiously optimistic. Let me put this to rest right away: Six of Crows lived up to every bit of hype I’ve heard about it. I’ve heard people describe […]
