Christy’s waiting on Why I’m Waiting: Because it’s Katie McGarry, duhhhhh.  Nah, seriously though, I absolutely loved the first two books in this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Fantasy Reads

Posted September 13, 2016 by Madalyn / 20 Comments

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is our Top Ten All-Time Favorite Books of X Genre. I decided to go with fantasy, since most of my favorite series happen to fall into this genre. This list will include a mix of high fantasy and urban fantasy, as well as a mix of series, trilogies, and standalones. madalyn’s top ten The  Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson AKA my number one favorite series OF ALL TIME. This trilogy is a masterclass on how to craft perfect character and story arcs in three books. The magic system is my favorite I’ve ever read. The entire cast of characters is wonderful, and all […]

Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig

Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig

My Thoughts Last Seen Leaving is a book that I was really excited to get my hands on.  We all know that I’m a fan of thrillers, right?  So of course I HAD to read this book.  I mean, that description is intriguing and vague, which of course only made me want to read it that much more.  Thankfully, the book is just as intriguing and I was able to get hooked very early on. As the description says, Flynn’s girlfriend, January, is missing and while the ‘main’ plot of this book follows the mystery of her disappearance, there is also so much more going on.  As the description also states, Flynn must face the truth about himself so this […]

Madalyn’s Novel Rewind (1)

Posted September 10, 2016 by Madalyn / 12 Comments

Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post.  The three of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Life & What’s Happened I’m not going to lie; the past few weeks have been incredibly hectic. I started my junior year of college at the end of August, and the workload this semester has been insane from the beginning. The past few days, I’ve also been stuck in my apartment with the worst sickness I’ve ever dealt with in college– not ideal, but I’m hoping to feel better by the end of this weekend. I had a really fun Labor Day Weekend, though– I attended the Decatur Book Festival […]

Bookish Bingo: Fall 2016

Posted September 9, 2016 by Erica / 6 Comments

This is my first time taking part in bookish bingo and I hope I’m going to do well. I really need to pick it up when it comes to reading, I have been slacking. Really, really badly. I don’t know what it has been, but I have not been reading much lately. I have been forcing myself through some review reads and even though I enjoy them they don’t make me want to pick up something else, which sucks. So, hopefully I can pick up the pace and having a challenge to complete will help. *fingers crossed* the card what do I plan to read? Honestly, I have no idea. I have a few picked out for my TBR, but […]

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

My Thoughts Oh, where to begin with this book? First off, I commend Colleen Hoover for writing it, and for tackling heavy topics that aren’t often discussed in the New Adult genre. I hadn’t picked up a Colleen Hoover novel in a few years, after loving her books in high school and then becoming increasingly disappointed with each new release from her. However, I had heard so many amazing things from people I trust about It Ends with Us that I just had to give it a chance, and I’m so, so glad I did. This story follows our protagonist, Lily Bloom (yeah, you read that correctly), as she navigates life, love, and heartbreak. Lily made a fantastic narrator– she has […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite TV Shows Edition

Posted September 6, 2016 by Erica / 13 Comments

Today all three of us Ink Ladies will be participating for TTT. The topic was too hard for any of us to pass up so we all wanted to take part. All three of us will be showcasing our top three and then we will have a final one that all three of us agree on. erica’s top three: Grey’s Anatomy Grey’s has been a show I have adored for awhile. It will forever be one of my favorite shows even if I don’t agree with some things they do in the show. I love all the characters (even though I go back and forth between loving and hating them). The drama just reels me in every damn time and I […]

If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo

If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo

My Thoughts Oh my gosh, this book!  It was so good and It’s such an important book that everyone needs to read!  It really delves into Amanda’s mind and her life.  It shows her thoughts and the troubles that she goes through on a daily basis.  I honestly can’t imagine how hard it was for her at the beginning of her transition and I think she is incredibly brave for having the courage not only to know who she is as a person, but also having the courage to BE that person.  She really is a wonderful person inside and out and I was rooting for her from the beginning. I’m really ashamed of how people treat others these days.  […]

Christy’s Novel Rewind (13)

Posted September 3, 2016 by Christy / 7 Comments

Novel Rewind is our version of a weekly wrap up post.  Each of us will be alternating weeks. We will be linking up to Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Life & What’s Happened I’ve been super busy these last few weeks with work, my dad’s birthday and working on Etsy orders and rep packages!  I feel like I’m always on the go with barely any time to breathe.  I also feel like I don’t read as much as I’d like to.  But, while I think some of that is because I’m always so busy with other things, it’s also because I’ve been in such a huge slump that not a lot of books sound really good to me […]
