Review & Giveaway | Please Don’t Tell: Laura Tims

I’m so excited to be part of the blog tour for this amazing book.  If this one isn’t on your TBR yet, you need to add it ASAP!   This book was WOW.  I just finished it and my mind is reeling.  This is going to be one of those vague reviews where I talk mostly about my feelings instead of going into details.  I’m doing this not only to avoid spoilers, but also because this is the type of book where you need to go in semi-blind.  You need to feel what Joy and Grace are feeling, you need to draw your own conclusions, and you need to be angry, and worried, and sad, and completely shocked at how […]

Ask Me How I Got Here: Christine Heppermann

Ask Me How I Got Here: Christine Heppermann

This book….was such a disappointment. I thought I was going to enjoy this book so much, sooo much. It sounded like it would be right up my alley. I adore poetry books, but this one just fell completely flat for me. There wasn’t a part in this book I really enjoyed. The beginning was okay. It had me intrigued, but then the story turned and I just wasn’t impressed. I do want to say one thing though, this story had some tough issues that it had dealt with. This is something we need in YA and I enjoyed that the author brought some of these to light, but there were way too many at once. She could have focused on […]

Waiting on Wednesday: The Sun Is Also a Star

Waiting on Wednesday Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s a feature where we show-off one of our most anticipated reads of the year. Where we tend to add more books to your never-ending TBR.     Why am I waiting? I cannot wait for this book because I really enjoyed Nicola’s first book, Everything Everything. I really enjoy her writing and I think this book is going to even outshine her first. *fingers crossed*   What are you guys waiting for?

Netflix & Books Tag

Posted May 20, 2016 by Erica / 44 Comments

Hello my fellow bookworms! My friend Lauren from Bookmark Lit and I wanted to come together to create a book tag. We know how much bloggers love binge-watching shows AND reading books, so we combined the two! We’ve selected a TV show to match each prompt and we invite you to change the shows to ones that fit YOU, if you’d like. Then, just choose the best book or series to match it. Also, if some prompts are just about a specific character you can choose which character you want from a book and TV show.  GENERAL RULES FOR THE TAG: Choose a book or book series that best matches the prompt provided Feel free to change the TV show if […]

Spark: Holly Schindler Blog Tour +Giveaway!

Today is my stop on the Spark blog tour hosted by Irish Banana! I cannot wait to share my review with you guys. Also, stick with me till the end for the giveaway! You totally want to add this book to your shelf. When I first saw the synopsis of this book I was super intrigued. It sounded like something I would absolutely enjoy and it didn’t disappoint. Now, it did surprise me. Going into this book I was expecting something extremely light and this book gave me something more. It wasn’t too light and I really enjoyed that aspect of this story. While the story was a bit slow in the beginning it definitely started to pick up. Though, the […]

TINY ANNOUNCEMENT!

Posted May 13, 2016 by Erica / 10 Comments

Hey guys, I just wanted to write a quick tiny announcement. Christy is going to be taking a break for a while so I’m going to be running the blog for the next month or so! The reason I am pointing this out there is because this past week the blog has been empty and that is my fault. I have been scheduling like crazy for the week’s ahead and just wanted to say sorry for me being MIA. I keep saying I’m coming back and then I leave the blog again for some reason. I have had my ups and downs, but I really am starting to become happy again. I’m starting to love myself again and that makes […]

Suffer Love: Ashley Herring Blake

Suffer Love: Ashley Herring Blake

Suffer Love is so much more than a love story which is, admittedly, what I was expecting from the cover.  The truth is, this book deals with so much more than romance. When we meet Hadley St. Clair she is in a bad place.  After the way her dad’s affair came to light, I can’t say that I blame her.  I can’t imagine what that would be like and the way that Hadley is coping with it, isn’t healthy.  But she’s a teenage girl and she does the things that distract her from what’s really going on, regardless of whether it’s right, or healthy, or what her best friend, Kat, thinks.  And THAT is what I found so realistic about […]

Guest Post with Andrea Lochen – All About Desserts & Books

Posted May 6, 2016 by Erica / 4 Comments

Ten Most Delicious Desserts Inspired by Novels by Andrea Lochen   As an avid reader with a major sweet tooth, I love when authors include the recipes for the yummy desserts they’ve made me drool over throughout their book.  It’s a marriage of two of my favorite activities—reading and baking!  And if you’re a book club member, what better treat to bring to your meeting than a dessert straight out of the novel?  Here are ten of my favorite book-inspired desserts!   1) Southern Caramel Cake from The Help by Kathryn Stockett Who hasn’t wanted to try a bite of the scrumptious-sounding caramel cake that Minny makes in The Help?  (Maybe not so much her chocolate pie, however!)  Though Stockett […]
