ARCs: Do You Keep Them After Reading?

Posted December 20, 2015 by Christy / 23 Comments

ARCS: What Do You Do With Them? I have a problem with ARCs.  Once I read them, if I loved the book, I’ll keep them on my shelf until I get a finished copy of the book, and if it’s a series or author that I collect, I’ll still keep them on my shelf, even after I get the finished copy. If it’s a book I don’t like, I still keep them on my shelf. Why?  Because I have no idea what to do with them.  I can’t throw them away, I’ve seen that some people do that, but I just can’t bring myself to throw any book away, no matter how much I didn’t like it.  But, at the same […]

Bookly Book : Subscription Review

Bookly Book : Subscription Review

I first want to thank the people at Bookly Box for sending me this box for review. What all did I get in this awesome box? » Sugar by Deirdre Riordan Hall » Bookmark with a lovely quote » Color tabs to take note of the awesomeness happening in the book What makes this box super cool? I always love subscription boxes, but when the box has a good cause I’m totally for it. Bookly Box was awesome to receive, but what makes it better is you give back. For every Bookly Box purchased they donate a book to someone who is less fortunate. Some people may think three things in a box is upsetting, but when you get to […]

Clean by Mia Kerick : Blog Tour

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Clean by Mia Kerick hosted by YA Bound Book Tours! I hope you guys enjoy my review and wait till the end for the awesome giveaway! I was really excited to review this book. As soon as I read the synopsis I wanted to read it. When it comes to books dealing with drug abuse and/or depression I always want to pick them up. These things have affected my family so reading about them is something I enjoy. Some people avoid books that bring up those memories, but I go for them. This book was wonderful. Seeing what these two guys went through was heart-breakingly beautiful. To see all the struggles that they went […]

The Vincent Boys | Stole My Heart

The Vincent Boys | Stole My Heart

Why did I wait so long? The Vincent Boys is one of those books that I’ve heard about for forever but always put off for one reason or another.  I’m totally regretting that decision now.  I wish I would have met The Vincent Boys sooner.  They completely stole my heart and I hate that I put off meeting them for so long.  That was a very bad mistake on my part. The Vincent Boys While I wish I could say that I loved both Beau and Sawyer the same.  I can’t.  We all know that I’m a sucker for the ‘bad boy’  so of course I found myself more drawn to Beau.  There was just something about him that drew […]

What would you do in a world without books? : Blood, Ink & Fire by Ashley Mansour

What would you do in a world without books? : Blood, Ink & Fire by Ashley Mansour

Before we get into my full review I want to point something out. I was a beta reader for Ashley (I was a part of The Hundred). I read the beta version and was totally in love with the book, but there were a few things that didn’t make it perfect. I then re-read the book (the final version) and that is what this review is based on). To answer my question above: lose my mind. I would literally lose my mind. No, you’re thinking…”Erica, c’mon, you won’t literally lose your mind.” But, yes I will. It’s not figurative…it will be gone and I won’t know what to do. I wouldn’t think, I wouldn’t be creative, I wouldn’t be able to simply…do. […]

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone | Christy’s Thoughts

Posted December 11, 2015 by Christy / 7 Comments

*Possible spoilers for those who’ve never watched or read the first Harry Potter book* Last week I talked about watching the Harry Potter movies for the first time EVER, and I have to admit that I was a little nervous when my 8 film collection set came in, only because there is SO MUCH HYPE surrounding Harry and I was so scared that I would be the one person in the history of the universe who hated it.  That’s partly the reason why I’ve never read the books before.  I’m intimidated by them.  But, when I saw the 8 film collection on sale for $25 on cyber Monday I decided that I would finally take the plunge and at […]
