Let’s eat cake and celebrate Erica’s one year of blogging!

Posted November 29, 2015 by Erica / 21 Comments

Today marks one year of me blogging and being at Novel Ink. Technically I have been blogging since November 23, but I don’t really count that because it was nothing really. November 29 is when everything started and that is what I am going with. I cannot thank Christy enough for accepting me to be her co-blogger. She has been so wonderful and I cannot be more grateful of her. She is not only my co-blogger, but also a best friend. She helps me through everything and I truly am so lucky to have her. Blogging has been such a special experience to me and I always ask myself, WHAT TOOK YOU SO DAMN LONG? I have no idea. I […]

This Raging Light / Estelle Laure // Left me raging…

This Raging Light / Estelle Laure // Left me raging…

This book was just ugh…I was hoping to fall head over heels for it. I actually DNF’d this at 21%, but then I couldn’t sleep so I just picked it up and finished it. I stayed up all night to finish a book to give it 1.5 stars, what’s wrong with me? I just needed to see how it all finished. If I would have DNF’d it and rated it the book would have gotten 2 stars. So that says something right there. Lucille was just a character that I couldn’t connect with on any kind of level. I sympathized with her and her situation, but that was it. All I got from her was complaints and her lust over […]

Design the Life You Love +Giveaway

Welcome guys, to my stop on this amazing tour hosted by Hannah @ Irish Banana Tours! I love journaling, in any way, and if you like to journal and plan then DESIGN THE LIFE YOU LOVE is the right book for you. Design the Life You Love is amazing and I was so happy to get a finished copy for review. The first thing that drew my attention when I opened the packaged (thirty seconds after it arrived on my doorstep) was the cover. I am a cover girl and this one is so simplistic that it draws me in. After you get past the whole amazing cover you open the book and everything is wonderful. The author did an absolutely fantastic job […]

Posted November 24, 2015 by Erica / 9 Comments

So, as Thanksgiving is coming in two days The Broke and the Bookish thought this week’s topic would be all about what we are thankful for. Which, totally makes sense and I am happy to see it is bit of a freebie to. They had different things ranging from books we’re thankful for, authors we’re thankful for, etc. But, I am choosing to just do what a bibliophile is thankful for. This bibiliophile. I want to just have hodgepodge of stuff. What Erica is Thankful For » My co-blogger, Christy. Christy is someone I cannot thank enough. She found me a week after I started blogging and I was lucky enough to get the chance at being a part of her […]

Illuminae | Was Freaking Awesome and Gave Me ALL THE FEELS

Illuminae | Was Freaking Awesome and Gave Me ALL THE FEELS

Where the hell do I even begin? Seriously, where do I even begin to say how flipping awesome this book was?  Nothing I can say will be able to convey my love for Illuminae, and nothing I can say will be able to convey just how awesome this book is and why everyone should read it.  But, I’m going to try. Awesome formatting The first thing I noticed when I opened this book was the formatting, it’s kind of hard not to.  It’s told in such a unique way that I’ve rarely ever come across.  In fact, I can only think of one book that even compares to the format.  Anyway, I loved the way this story was told.  I […]

Abby and the Cute One // Erin Butler

Abby and the Cute One // Erin Butler

This is only the second book I have read in The Backstage Pass series and I want to pick up the first three. The last two that I have read, Anya and the Shy Guy and this one, have been FABULOUS. They have both been four stars for me. They are cute stories with wonderful romance-y themes. But enough about the two books I have read, let’s focus on this bad boy…or cute on shall I say. This story was all kind of cute and that fits the main male character quite well. Every bit of this book is miraculous. I mean there were things that I wasn’t overly excited about, but other than that…wonderful. This story was quick to […]

Standalones or Series?

Posted November 18, 2015 by Erica / 24 Comments

Which do you prefer: standalones or series? We always have our preferences when we read and below I’m going to list a few that stick out to me. They aren’t the main focus of this post, but I will be talking about these later one. But, for some fun down in the comment section, why don’t we turn this into something fun. I’m going to list below some choices we have to make and with that we are going to play ‘would you rather?‘ In the comments leave your answers to this…maybe tough…’would you rather?‘ » Audiobooks or actual books? » Hardback or paperback? » Barnes and Noble or Books-A-Million? » Taking notes or just enjoying the read? » Reading at […]

The Pledge // Book Hangover Follows

The Pledge // Book Hangover Follows

I think I shall blame this book for putting me into a reading slump. This book was so good and it just kind of led me to have a book hangover. There were some parts that I didn’t absolutely love, but the book as a whole just left me breathless. I can’t find a contemporary novel I want to pick up lately and that is rare, since it’s my favorite genre. The story is told from alternating POV’s which is something I really love in books. I love getting both sides of the story and these authors did it so very well. I love being able to see what each other is thinking and what is going on in their […]
