Something Real by Heather Demetrios

After reading I’ll Meet You There and falling in love with Sky and Josh’s story, I knew that I had to read more by this author.  I went into Something Real expecting to fall in love with the characters like I did with IMYT.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  While I did really enjoy some of the characters, I hated more than I liked.  Okay, maybe not, but it feels that way. I’m going to break this review down a little different than what I normally do.  I feel like it’ll help me articulate my many dislikes and likes better. LIKED: Characters – Just a warning, this will be on both lists.  The characters that I actually liked in this book […]

Posted September 6, 2015 by Ink Ladies / 4 Comments

Latte Nights Obsessions Latte Nights Obsessions is all about sharing our obsessions of the week, whether they are books, TV shows, movies, music, even candy or food and mugs and toys! If you are interested in joining in on this awesomeness head over to Latte Nights Reviews for the original post and how you can showcase your obsessions for the week. ERICA’S OBSESSIONS I have not been obsessing over much lately…mostly trying to find a dresser or anything storage related for my bedroom at my new home. I live with my mom now and it’s totally different than with my dad so that’s hard. But, yeah, finding a dresser so I can actually try to put away my clothes would be awesome. So, […]

Stacking the Shelves (89)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.   Christy’s Haul Gifted: When Joss Met Matt Thanks, #OTSPSecretSister for this book! I cannot wait to read it ♥ For Review Sweet Madness Erica’s Haul I want to say a huge thank you to my #OTSPSecretSister. I couldn’t be happier with my first package. I received Everything, Everything (which I’m totally excited to read), Take Me On (Christy loves Katie McGarry so I know I’ll love it), Coconut Bath & Body Works Lotion (my fave scent), a bracelet, and a cup. The bracelet is one that has hope, a lifesaver, and wings on it to represent so much. All of the proceeds go to a suicide prevention. My sister got me this in […]

CONGRATULATIONS CHRISTY! <3

Posted September 4, 2015 by Erica / 28 Comments

Congratulations Christy Christy, I can’t be more proud of you. I know you have been stressing out so much lately but it has all officially payed off. You are a State Certified RN, how incredible is that? It’s beyond words and I won’t to know that I am so freaking proud of you. What an amazing accomplishment. You have been juggling so many things. A husband, two kids (whom have been sick), blogging and studying your butt of for your exam. I know I am here to help you in the best way that I can, but I know at times it wasn’t enough and you were stressed beyond belief. I wanted to drive to you, make us some awesome […]

Netflixing Gone Wild // Your Choice is Revealed

The votes are in and you guys have chosen for Christy & I to watch [drum roll please]… Gossip Girl My sister just watched this about two months ago and she has been pushing it on me for awhile, so I’m really excited to start on with this. Christy and I will be watching about a season a week…so next Thursday we will be having our first discussion of the show. After we’re done with Gossip Girl you guys will be coming back to vote for the next show. We will be taking some of your suggestions from before and adding that to the list. I was shocked at how many shows I forgot to even mention to Christy, so […]

What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler

What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler

I honestly don’t even know where to start.  This book was so haunting and so emotional, and it shed so much light on the subject of rape and sexual assault.  Unfortunately, it always comes down to the girl lying and running the guys name ‘through the mud’, but that’s usually not the case.  I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but it seems that it’s everyone first thought.  All too often, it seems that the girl (WHO IS THE VICTIM!) has to live with people calling her names and saying that she asked for it because she wore short skirts, or had too much to drink, or whatever, while everyone takes up for the guy.  It’s ridiculous. Kate, our MC, was at the […]

Sharing a Story Within a Story // NEW FEATURE.

Posted September 1, 2015 by Ink Ladies / 2 Comments

Sharing a Story Within a Story Christy and I our introducing a new feature over here at Novel Ink. With my cousin’s passing & Shannon’s Shattering Stigmas it has led to this new feature I know you guys have seen my posts lately about how depression needs to be dived into rather than ran away from. I love sharing his story and being able to give you guys hope in any form that I can. An even better way to share his story rather than just doing a blog post is to share a book that has touched me in a magnificent way. Whether it be a book about depression like, All the Bright Places, or a book that you just loved and it […]
